Major crops include corn, forage, soybeans and small grains. 2 These four crops made up approximately 85% of the value of the more than $2 billion of crops produced in Wisconsin in 2002. 3 In the 1990s, Wisconsin experienced a small loss in the total acreage of major crops planted. The rate of crop loss increased between 2000 and 2002. Additionally, there was significant change in the types of crops grown after 1990, with the growth of soybeans and the loss of forage crops being the most notable.
