This fact sheet summarizes information on crops, dairy, farmland sales, and farmland values for the North Central District in Wisconsin between 1990 and 2002. It is meant as a companion piece to more extensive data available on the Wisconsin Land Use Data CD and the PATS website. In general, changes in cropping patterns in the district mirror those of the state as a whole, with significant gains in soybeans planted and major losses in forage crops. The dairy industry was quite stable throughout the period, experiencing relatively small losses in milk production and number of dairy cows compared to the state. Clark, Marathon, and Taylor Counties account for the majority of agricultural production in the North Central District.
